House. 1678, probably for Thomas and Lydia Horton with mid-C18 and later
additions, and some late C20 alterations. Sandstone ashlar with slate roof.
Central stair hall flanked by two rooms with rear stacks. Two storeys, three
windows: two 3-light windows flank a 2-light window, all with stone mullions,
datestone over centre inscribed "H/ TL/1678 "; ground floor: two 3-light
windows flank central C18 porch which has a moulded cornice and two engaged
Doric columns. Left-hand gable has a 4-light window to each floor; gable has
an exposed timber truss with close-studding. Interior: dividing walls are
timber-framed, four square panels high. (Typescript report and drawings by
