Gatepiers and gates at
Eshton Hall

Gatepiers and gates, 1825-7 by George Webster. Ashlar. 2 square piers with
plinth, clasping Doric pilasters, entablature with triglyphs. Large scrolls
descend to short wing walls of plain ashlar terminating in octagonal piers with
cornices and large ball finials. Gates are heavy, with star finials and
rosettes of cast iron and scrolly infill of wrought iron.
