Farmhouse, now house. C17 with mid-C19 and late C20 alterations. Timber-
framed with brick infill on sandstone rubble base; brick replacement walling
and additions; plain tiled roofs. Three framed bays aligned east/west; large
external chimney with detached stack at west gable end. Single storey and
attic with dormers. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate, long
straight braces in some lower corners; collar and tie-beam trusses with two
struts and with V-strut in apex at east gable end. South front elevation:
4-light ground floor casement, one flat-roofed dormer and one raking-top
half-dormer, both with 2-light casements; ledged and battened door to right
of central and east end bay. Attic light in west gable end. Interior:
framing appears mainly intact; large fireplace in west bay and part of
winder staircase survives in central bay. A C19 single-bay two-storey
addition adjoins the west chimney; ground and first floor 3-light casement
in its south elevation; a lean-to lobby-entrance to the front of the main
chimney links the original building with this addition. There is also
another C19 addition adjoining the east end bay to the south; two-bay single-
storey and attic; it has a 2-light casement and ledged and battened door in
its west, side elevation, (both have cambered heads), and an attic light at
its gable end. The house was being restored at time of survey (March 1985).
