5/25 Church Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C17 with late C19and C20 alterations. Timber-framed with
sandstone plinth and part painted brick, part wattle-and-daub infill;
rendered south front. Tiled roof. L-plan with main axial stack backing
onto through-passage. Single storey and attic. North front: central gabled
dormer with horizontal sliding sash window, one 3-light C20 window to ground
floor to left of lean-to porch with ledged door; gable end of wing to right
with horizontal sliding sash window above roof line of adjoining slightly
lower addition with 2-light C20 window. In former doorway to east side is a
2-light C20 window in gable. Framing appears largely complete: three square
panels from sill to wall-plate.
