Farmhouse. C17, rebuilt and resited in 1900. Coursed squared stone, ashlar
with graduated stone slate roof. 2 storeys with attics, 3 bays. Central
gabled bay breaks forward, to right-hand side a board door in chamfered
stone surround with 4-centred arched head and hoodmould, to right an 8-light
chamfered mullioned and transom window with hoodmould. To outer bays 4-
light chamfered mullioned windows with hoodmoulds. First floor: to central
bay an 8-light chamfered mullioned window with hoodmould, above this in
gable a similar window of 4-lights. To right a similar window of 3-lights.
Kneelers, stone coping, large ridge stack to left. Large external offset
gable stack to right. The original C17 building, Gouthwaite White Hall, was
moved up from the valley during the building of Gouthwaite Reservoir and
rebuilt as 2 houses. See Gouthwaite Hall.
