attached outbuilding

GV II
House and attached outbuilding. Late C18 - early C19 with later C19
extension. Coursed rubble sandstone with tooled dressings; pantile roof
with brick stacks. Central-staircase plan, 1 1/2 rooms deep; rear extension
added; outbuilding to right. 2-storey, 3-window front, with single-storey,
3-bay outbuilding to right. Centre C20 board door beneath patterned
overlight with lead glazing bars. 16-pane sashes with stone sills
throughout, with blind window over the door. Painted flat arches of
voussoirs. Modillion eaves course. End stacks. Outbuilding has a stable
door with two 12-pane fixed lights, all with timber lintels. End right
stack. Interior: 6-panel hall doors. Panelled shutters and window
shuttering to ground-floor front rooms. In room to right there is a mid C19
cast-iron fireplace with a tiled surround c1860.
