Farmhouse. Substantially early C18, though core is probably late C16 or early
C17. Brick with zinc roof over former thatch. 2-storeyed, 3 unit plan with
right-hand bay a projecting gabled wing. Doorway in moulded wood architrave
central in left-hand bays. Windows all 3-light casements renewed in orginal
openings with cambered heads. Blocked attic window in gable apex. Plain sill
band, and additional dentilled sill band in gable. Plinth. Central door flanked
by 2-light windows in rear wall of gable, and 2-light window and doorway beyond
in the main range. Beyond the doorway, a lean-to single storeyed wing is timber
framed with brick infill. Posts and rails and 1 arched brace survive. It was
formerly a gabled wing with pitched roof. The patchy brickwork and rendering
in the rear wall of the main range suggests that the existing brickwork may
be the replacement of former timber framing in the main body of the house
also. Gable and axial stacks.
