House and Cottage, formerly a single dwelling. Core of late C16, extended and
refronted c1712. Timber-framed core, exposed on rear and west sides, the rest
brick on granite plinth, Welsh slate roof. Mains front faces south, 2 storeyed,
3 bays, with central door in porch with Tuscan columns supporting projecting
entablature. Flanking windows are 3-light casements with transoms and cambered
brick heads. 2-light casements to 1st floor have flat timber lintels. Sill band,
dentilled eaves, gable stacks. Rear elevation forms E plan, with timber framed
central range partially obscured by outshut, and wings linked by boundary wall to
east wing. Side wall stack on east wing. West wing forms Old Hall Cottage.
Gable to north is timber framed in square panels with arch bracing, and 2 casement
windows. Right hand bay is of brick on granite plinth with door in porch to left,
and wide stair-window at intermediate height beyond it. Brick sill band and
eaves cornice. Gable end stacks. Garden wall is attached to the house at the
north east angle. Brick with stone copings and terminal and gate piers which are
capped by fluted urns as finials.
