Cottage. C17, refaced late C18, Timber frame with brick infill replaced
to east front by brickwork; tiled roof; corniced brick ridge stack
and end stack to right. Two storeys and gable-lit attic, two-window
front; casements, more widely spaced and with segmental heads to ground
floor; central entrance with C20 glazed door. Lower addition to right.
Sides and rear have square panel framing braced at wall plate level
to truss divisions. The cottage was used by Erasmus Darwin for his
patients as a recuperative retreat and for use of the restorative bath
(q.v.) sited to the south.
