Church. C12,almost completely rebuilt 1860 in the Norman style by
Pritchett. Ashlar, coursed squared stone, Welsh slate roofs. Nave with
south porch, lower chancel with north vestry. Nave: 3 bays. Pilaster
buttresses to western corners. South side has central Norman style gabled
porch. Board door with original C12 doorway; one order of nook-shafts,
capitals with plait and volutes, zigzag moulded arch. All windows are
Norman in style with incised zigzag work to round-arched heads and
hoodmoulds. West window sightly more elaborate with nook-shafts, impost
bands and moulded arch. Circular window above. Stone coping. Offset
gabled bellcote with double-arched openings. Chancel: I bay, east window
Norman in style with one order of nook-shafts. Stone coping with ridge
cross. Interior: chancel arch C12, one order of nook-shafts, scalloped
capitals, stepped arch with much zigzagging. Font: C12. C19 plinth and
round column, C12 round bowl with carving depicting a big bearded face, a
centaur shooting an arrow towards it (sagittarius, and 2 affronted beasts
with one human head in common). C19 east window with nook-shafts and
moulded arch.
