Four houses, three having C20 shop fronts, linking the Golden Fleece and Three Tuns
Hotels. Late C18 and early C19. Brown brick. Nos 48-52 have a 2nd floor string
course. No 46 has a slate roof, otherwise pantiled roofs with 3 rows of stone slates
at the lower edge. 3 storeys. No 52 retains an early C19 ground floor with a canted
bay with sash windows and a doorcase with fluted pilasters, brackets and hood. The
carriageway of the Golden Fleece encroaches upon the ground floor of No 46. To each
upper floor a total of 7 sash windows with stucco heads. All have glazing bars except
for those of No 48. Group value with the Three Tuns and Golden Fleece.
