Cottage. C17/18, extended in C19, renovated and extended in
C20. Timber-framed, weatherboarded and plastered, roofed with
handmade and machine-made red clay tiles. Main range of 2 bays
facing NE, with C19 external stack at left end, on the axis,
and C19 internal stack at right end, behind the axis; one
storey with attics. C19 single-storey lean-to at each end, and
C19 single-storey ancillary range to rear of right end. C20
wing of one storey with attic to rear centre, and C20 square
extension with pyramidal roof to rear left. Two C20 casements,
and two C19 casements in gabled dormers. C20 half-glazed door.
INTERIOR: each bay has a chamfered axial beam and plain joists
of vertical section, supported on bolted clamps in the right
bay. A studded partition between the ground-floor rooms has 3
studs in situ, 3 studs removed. Simple tying joints, straight
tie-beams, clasped purlin roof with an arched collar in the
middle of each bay. Winder stair at front right corner.
