Base of preaching cross. Early medieval. Ashlar. 3 round steps
and part of round shaft, all sunk below surface with later
revetment excavated area. Plaque to wall of church records
history: it was erected for the use of itinerant preachers
from Dudley Priory by Lady Godiva, the Lady of the Manor of
Nether Penn, and was in use until the building of the 1st
church c1200. A rare and important survival.
