Pair of attached houses. c1840. Limestone ashlar with party
wall stacks, roof not visible. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys,
attic and basement; 5-window range. An asymmetrical pair, No.5
with a 3-window range set back slightly, with a ground-floor
frieze and cornice, first-floor sill band, frieze and cornice,
and coped attic storey. No.5 has a near-symmetrical front with
central Ionic porch, and an architrave to an overlight and
2-panel door; No.6 has left side entrance blocks set back with
moulded semicircular-arched door, blocked fanlight and 6-panel
door. Tripartite ground-floor inner windows with subordinate
pilasters, and outer bays, canted to the right-hand side, and
square to the left; upper windows have incised surrounds, to
6/6-pane sashes, 3/6-panes to the attic. INTERIOR not
inspected.
