Pair of attached houses. 1843. Limestone ashlar with lateral
stacks, roof not visible. Double-depth plan. Neoclassical
style.
2 storeys, attic and basement; 4-window range. A symmetrical
front has parapeted 2-storey end entrance blocks set back,
with the party wall to the right side of the centre block, and
No.15 occupying the right-hand end and basement. Centre has a
banded ground floor, pilasters with moulded tops to a frieze
and cornice, and attic pilasters to a moulded coping. Doorways
in the end blocks, No.13 has steps up to a semicircular-arched
front doorway, covered by a C20 conservatory, with a window
above; No.15 has a side doorway with flanking C20 bays.
Windows with segmental heads in shallow segmental-arched
recesses, to 6/6-pane sashes. First-floor cast-iron balcony to
the centre.
INTERIOR: No.13, stair hall containing a side stair flight
with turned balusters and a curtail, marble fireplace with
attached columns in rear right-hand room, panelled shutters
and 6-panel doors, and cornices. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached
front basement area piers and railings, and single-leaf front
entrance gate.
