House, now offices. Mid C19. Limestone ashlar with a concrete
tile hipped roof. Double-depth plan. 3 storeys and basement;
4-window range. Italianate style. A symmetrical front with a 2
storey, 1-window left-hand block, incised rusticated quoin
strips, plat band, first-floor sill and impost bands,
second-floor sill band, and overhanging bracketed eaves.
Central doorcase has detached columns with foliate capitals to
a projecting semicircular arch with cornice, plate-glass
fanlight and double panelled door beneath. Flanking 3-light
bows with foliate capitals, incised voussoirs and cornices
across the ground floor. First-floor semicircular-arched
arcades of 3-light and central 2-light windows, with detached
columns between each, and small ball flowers and paterae
above; matching second-floor arcades have flat, moulded
lintels. Matching windows in the side block. Plate-glass
ground-floor and 2/2-pane upper sashes. INTERIOR not
inspected. Nos 5-19 (qv) are now linked into a single office.
