Pair of houses now divided as flats. Dated 1863. Probably by
Walter Scott. Yellow brick with stone dressings and Welsh
slate roof. 2-storeyed with attics, symmetrically planned with
gothic detailing. Side entrances, each with arched open-work
timber porch supporting squared bay window with hipped roof
above. Elevation to street of 3 bays with outer gables, that
to right advanced. Squared bay window in left-hand gable with
tripartite stilted arched window, raking parapet forms plinth
of narrower first floor bay with fretted parapet over. Canted
bay in right-hand gable, with paired stilted arched window
over on each floor, and balcony to upper windows. Stepped
tripartite stilted arched windows in central bay, with
cast-iron balcony carried on stone brackets to first floor.
Stone coped gables to front range, fretted bargeboards in
parallel rear range. End wall stack, with date.
