House, later house and flat. Late C18 with late C19 shop.
Restored 1989 for Teesdale Buildings Preservation trust.
Irregular courses of squared stone with ashlar dressings; roof
of stone slate with stone gable copings, stone ridge, and
stone chimney. 3 storeys; 3-window range. Renewed 6-panel door
at left with inserted overlight and chamfered tooled stone
surround raised for overlight; shop front fills remainder of
ground floor, projecting slightly, with narrow pilasters to
central recessed half-glazed door and 2-light windows under
full-width entablature which has moulded frieze. C19
alteration over shop with 4-pane sashes in canted bay with
pilasters, zigzag decoration on frieze with moulding similar
to that on shop, and cornice. 4-pane sashes on upper floors
except for canted bay, in raised stone surrounds with slightly
projecting stone sills. Low-pitched roof has gable copings on
moulded kneelers, and transverse stack at right.
