Road bridge. Dated 1769. Ashlar. Downstream side has central
round-headed arch with keystone and band. Parapet has 3
courses of tooled ashlar with moulded cornice and 2 square
piers with pyramidal caps. The upstream side has a similar
arch but a much larger parapet of 3 courses of tooled ashlar
and moulded cornice. The Newport end has 1 pier with pyramidal
cap but the caps are missing to 3 other piers. Plaque on
parapet wall with inscription "Erected in the year 1769 to
Newport Quay".
