Methodist chapel. Probably c1860 with minor later alterations. Roughly coursed
slate-stone with granite and yellow brick dressings; slate roof with ornamental
ceramic cresting to nave. Nave with short semi-circular apse.
Nave: West (ritual south) side has tall narrow cast-iron latticed window in
chamfered stone surround to left of centre. Lean-to to right with alternating
angle quoins has paved round-headed cast-iron latticed windows in moulded brick
surrounds. Lean-to porch in angle to left has boarded double doors with ornamental
strap hinges in chamfered round-headed brick surround. East (ritual north)
side is same as west except that there is no porch. North (ritual west) end
has tall narrow round-headed window similar to those on east and west. Apse
has 2 round-headed leaded latticed windows in moulded brick surrounds. Interior
has mid-Cl9 box pews. The chapel occupies a prominent position in its own cemetery
above the road.
