Terrace of 5 houses with weavers' garrets. c1830. Brick with
Welsh slate roof. 3 storeys, each a single unit, double-pile
plan. Round-arched doorways and 4-pane sashes with flat-arched
heads. Long workshop lights with small panes (some now
renewed) to attic storey to front and rear. No.42 a somewhat
later addition, with doorway across angle and 4-pane sash
windows on each floor, so without attic workshop. The houses
were originally built as back-to-backs, a development type
rare in Macclesfield.
