Pair of houses with weavers' garrets, now in partial
commercial use. c1850. Brick with Welsh slate roof. 3 storeys
and attic in roof, 4-window range with late C19 shop fronts to
ground floor, moulded console brackets carrying the continuous
fascia. Central passage entry. Outer upper windows are 16-pane
sashes, the inner windows 12-pane sashes, all with flat-arched
finely gauged brick heads. Upper storey has sash windows of 9
and 12 panes. Console brackets carry projecting eaves.
Weaver's garret in roof lit by continuous clerestorey with
horizontally sliding sash windows. End wall stacks. Apparently
the only local example of this particular design for combining
house and workshop.
