House. C16, plastering on front dated 1666. Staircase and front
door inserted in C19. Tall, 2 storeys, timberframed and
plastered farmhouse facing E. Weatherboarded apron to N and E
sides. Steep old red tiled roof hipped with gablets. Small C19
casement windows of 1-3-lights, horizontally divided. 4-panel
half-glazed, C19 front door into upper end of hall. Central red
brick chimney one-third from N end backing onto cross passage.
3-unit plan with 2 doors into service rooms at W axially divided.
C19 stair taken out of upper end of hall. 2 painted panels on
front lozenge shaped with expanded points 'IM' and 'SEA 1666'.
Patched pargetting on N wall. High cemented plinth. 3-light
late C17 casement window with leaded glazing and iron opening
light to chamber over parlour on SW. Door on W leads into cross
passage with roomy recess on right, probably the site of a stair.
Deeply moulded C16 beam over fireplace with hollows and rolls.
Chamfered and stopped beams intersect over hall. Heavy jowls to
posts at 2 levels. Clasped purlin roof. Fine 4-centred
plastered brick fireplace to chamber over hall with sunk
spandrels.
