II
Pair of houses, now one house. Late C17 origin with C19 and C20 alterations and
additions. Coursed rubble with stone dressings, to right with stone tiled roof
with raised coped verges and kneelers and gable stack to right, to left with
double Roman tiled roof with raised coped verges and gable stack. 2 storeys and
3 windows, ground floor has two 3-light casements with flat mullions, central
flat-roofed porch with double door in chamfered surround, parapet and coping,
continuous hood mould above lintels and porch, first floor has two 3-light and
central 2-light similar windows under eaves. To left, the lower 2-storey
attached cottage has 4 varied windows at ground floor, three 2-light casements and
one 8-pane light, 2nd from right a small door in heavy frame with plain strap
hinges and timber lintel; 2 small C20 2-light casements under eaves. Rear has
C20 terrace arcade at cellar level with 5 round arches, ground floor has two
2-light casements as on front and central C20 French window with dripstone, first
floor has 3 smaller 2-light casements. To right, 3-light casement and 2-light
(formerly door) with four 2-light casements under eaves, single storey addition
with pitched roof attached to right. Interior: not inspected.
