Cottage and attached barn. Cottage mid C17, barn possibly earlier and
timber-framed originally, clad in stone probably early C18. Thin coursed
rubble, stone slate roof. 2-storey cottage to left of barn has single-cell
with quoins on right, doorway with composite jambs and moulded surround and
4-light double-chamfered mullioned window to each floor (both lacking 2 mullions).
Coped gable to left, ridge stack at junction with 3-bay single-aisled barn
which has modern boarded full-height cart-entry set in 1st bay. Lean-to to right
walled continuously with front. Rear has long sloping roof of aisle interrupted
by low gabled wing to right of window with wooden lintel. Cottage, set back,
has gable with ends of purlins visible.
Interior: Cottage: housebody has stop-chamfered spine-beam and floor joists and
wide segmental-arched fireplace with voussoirs.and skewbacks. Barn: posts on
padstones with straight braces visible to tie-beam and wall-plate, trusses not
visible. Braced tie to aisle.
In a dilapidated condition at time of resurvey.
