Aqueduct. 1890s. Brick with sandstone keystones. Two shallow segmental
arches, with narrower arch adjoining on eastern canal bank now blocked and
containing a doorway. Moulded band below solid brick parapet. Plaque on
north side, to left of left hand arch, inscribed: "Rebuilt 189-". Carries
James Brindley's Old Main Line of 1769 over the Netherton Tunnel branch north
of the tunnel entrance. Netherton Tunnel was built in 1858 to improve
communications between the Dudley and the Birmingham canals.
