Description

MORCOTT
SK 90 SW CHURCH LANE
(North West side)

5/97 Nos. 1 and 5

GV II

Pair of houses, formerly three dwellings, and probably partially of C17, though
with later alterations. Coursed rubble with lower stone tiled roof to section
to left, the rest roofed in Welsh slate. Two storeys. Left hand bay is 1½ storeys
with single 3-light casement with chamfered timber lintel to ground floor, coped
gable and brick stack. A new porch partially obscures the ground floor of the
right hand bays, but enough survives to suggest that originally it comprised
three single unit houses, as beyond the porch there is a 2-light window and a
further door in gabled wood porch, and another window beyond it. Various casement
windows above, all have flat timber lintels. One brick axial stack, and paired
stone stacks on right hand gable.
