Farmhouse now house, Datestone H/T/M 1685 for Thomas Hall or Hitchman. C20
alterations. Ironstone ashlar. Steeply pitched imitation stone slate roots.
Brick end stacks. 2-unit plan with C18 wing forming L-plan. Elevation to road. 2
storeys plus attic. 3-window range. Entrance to right has plank door moulded
square headed doorway with open segmental pediment. Ground floor has two
casement windows and wood lintels, First floor has 1- and 7- light metal
casement windows with wood lintels and a 2-light stone mullioned window with
hood mould and label stop. Attic has a similar stone mullion window. Noted as
having a staircase projection to rear, interior (from Wood-Jones); original
2-unit plan of hall and parlour (with celar under) extended by the addition of
a pantry and kitchen wing. Noted as having architectural quality in detailing
which is superior to larger 3-unit dwellings of this period. Interior not
inspected.
