2 houses, probably originally a coaching inn. Dated 1713. Whitewashed render
with coloured washed stone dressings and band and Swithland slate roof with
2 brick ridge stacks. Stone coped shouldered gables. 2½ storeys of 5 2-light
wooden mullion and transom windows, mostly horizontal sliding sashes. 5 gabled
dormers with moulded eaves. On ground floor from left, part-glazed door with
overlight, C20 3-light window with top lights, paired 4/4 sash, carriage entrance
with segmental arch, 4-panelled door with overlight and 2 2-light mullion and
transom windows, the left wider. Most openings have lintels with slightly
projecting keystones, rusticated stone jambs and stone sills. Inscribed over
central arch in raised letters 'THE GRAPES'. Dated 1713 below. Wing to rear.
