Pair of small houses. Mid/late C17. Coursed squared marlstone rubble; thatch and
Welsh-slate roofs with ashlar and rendered ridge stacks. 2-unit plans with rear
outshut. 2 storeys plus attic. 2-window front of No.48, to left, has a plank
door with canopy between 3-light stone-mullioned windows with labels, and has
leaded 3-light casements at first floor. No.49 has a 2-light and a 3-light
mullioned window at ground floor and two 2-light casements above. Stacks rise in
centre of each cottage. Left gable wall has a parapet and has mullioned windows
to 3 floors with leaded glazing. Slated rear outshut, facing road, has plank
doors to both houses. Interiors not inspected. No.48 probably has a lobby-entry
plan.
