Farmhouse, now house. Early C18, refronted late C18. Limestone ashlar and
coursed squared rubble with ashlar dressings; concrete plain-tile and
Welsh-slate roofs with ashlar stacks. Central-stair plan with rear service wing.
3 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window ashlar front, with storey bands and flat arches,
has a central arched doorway with keyblock and radiating fanlight, 12-pane
sashes at ground and first floors, and 6-pane sashes at second floor. Hipped
roof has 2 lateral stacks at rear and continues over a central rear projection
containing a stair window and the rear entrance. Lower rubble and slate rear
wing returns on right. Interior: large stone-flagged stair hall containing fine
open-well stair with turned balusters per tread and closed-string upper flights;
sitting room with C18 plaster cornice and tall arched recesses with serpentine
shelves; dining room with large early C18 moulded stone fireplace with segmental
head, keyblock and imposts; some early C18 architraves. 2-storey 4-window rubble
and slate range, attached to left, has an external stone stair at the rear, and
a 2-row brick dovecote in the gable; part of the range is now incorporated into
the house.
