Detached timber framed cottage. C17 or possibly early C18. 2 storeys on
substantial stone footing. Gable front, pebbledash, to road; rest rendered.
Pantile roof with 2 chimneys, catslide to rear over box framed side wall with
brick panels. A 2 light casement on 1st floor and 2 small ground floor windows
to gable which has central recessed doorway with cement surround. 2 ranges
of windows to South-West, small modern 2 light casements on 1st floor, sash
windows ground floor (glazing bars to right, moulded architraves to left).
Lean-to extension to North-East gable end. Interior somewhat altered, but
retains large fireplace to 1st floor back room. Birthplace of Methodist missionary
Masham (or Marsham).
