Sloane Cottage and Nos. 1 to 3 Lower Falkland Cottages

A C17 timber-framed and plastered house very much altered and added to
in the C19. Sloane Cottage, on the south, comprises the south cross wing
of the original house and a C19 wing extending to the south. Nos 1 to
3 (consec) comprise the main block and north cross wing of the original
house but refaced in C19 brick and with the cross wing heightened or rebuilt.
2 storeys with an attic storey in the north cross wing. Sloane Cottage
has early-mid C19 external features. 3 window range, double-hung sashes,
with glazing bars to the upper storey windows. There are 2 shallow bowed
oriel bays on the 1st storey and the ground storey windows are 3-light
with single vertical glazing bars. There is a central doorway with a
semi-circular fanlight, plain columns and a cornice. Nos 1 to 3 (consec)
has later C19 features. 3 window range, double-hung sashes with single
vertical glazing bars. Roofs tiled, with a large central square chimney
stack to the main block and ornamental cut and shaped bargeboards to the
south cross wing.
