corner of Witnesham Hall

GV II

Walling, gatepiers and pair of gates; C18, raised and remodelled c.1842. An
arm extends about 10 metres to north-west from the rear of Witnesham Hall and
then returns north-eastwards for 40 metres to screen the stable range beyond.
Red brick with moulded terracotta copings. The wall is pierced by a carriage
gateway with heavy square piers and pair of ornamental wrought iron gates. At
the north-east end is a further square pier. The arm of wall linking with the
Hall was raised c.1842 and given blind hood-moulded windows and embattled
copings.
