Farmhouse, now house. Late C16; remodelled c.1670. Random bond brick on sarsen
base; stone slate roof, brick stacks. 3-unit lobby entry plan, rear wing of
c.1670. 2-storey, 5-window range. C20 hood over mid C19 5-panelled door. Brick
soldier arches to ground floor, segmental arches to first floor, over C20
casements. Brick diaper patterning string course and eaves bandy sundial top
left. Hipped and gabled roof; ridge and right end stack. IB 1670 in flared
headers to top right gable, which also has original 4-light wood-mullion and
transomed casement, and rectangular panels with flint infill. Interior: Cellar,
right room has chamfered and stopped beam, 2-panelled C17 door, cast iron door
to breadoven in fireplace; fireplace with moulded limestone architrave in
centre room has pulvinated frieze to overmantle, flanked by C17 panelling;
2-panelled door with decorative hinges to cupboard adjoining dog- leg with
landing stairs in stair turret. First floor has timber framed wall with late
C16 three light ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned window at junction with rear
right wing; rear gallery gives access to stairs and rooms along front; C17
panelling and doors, fireplaces with moulded chalk architrave to right and
centre rooms; timber framing to left and right walls of left room. Attic has 8-
bay collar-truss roof with butt purlins. Single storey wing of c.1670 to rear
right; brick, continued from right gable of house; tiled; 3-window range; 3-bay
common rafter roof with butt purlins; c.1670 stair turret between rear wing and
