8/181 Three White monuments in the church-
yard between 0.5 and 3 metres south
of Church of St Mary the Virgin
GV II
Group of three chest tombs. Late C17 to early Cl9. Limestone.
Easterly of group to William White,died 1823 has plinth, two shaped
fielded panels with spandrels and fielded pilasters, moulded flat
top. Southerly of group to William White,died 1718 with two
recessed moulded panels, cavetto-moulded flat top. Tomb nearest
nave to Henry White,died 1674; one recessed moulded panel to main
sides, cavetto-moulded flat top with roll moulding; particularly
good lettering records Henry White as Messenger to three kings;
James, Charles I and Charles II.
