Circa 1820. Left hand part 3 storeys, right hand part 2 storeys, painted
stucco, framed by rusticated quoins. Flat eaves to slate roof, hipped over
left hand part. Right hand part of 4 bays, all windows glazing bar sashes
with moulded architraves and Venetian shutters. 6-panelled door to left
(lower panels reeded), good wrought-iron knocker of 2 dolphins and ball,
plain arched fanlight, panelled reveals with Venetian shutters folding back
into them; doorcase of panelled pilasters, plain necking, broken dentil
cornice and open pediment. Left hand part: 2 bays with similar treatment
to windows, ground floor left blind. Trefoil headed area railings with
pointed dog-rails, scrolls to cast-iron gatepiers and over gates.
Interior: Front passage and staircase hall have panelled dado with paired
cusped Gothic blind arch panels (repeated in miniature in cupboard below
stairs). 2 rooms on ground floor of right hand part incorporate fragments
of a 4 poster bed from Island House (qv Min ster St) - oak, Jacobean, now
dresser type fireplaces and shelves.
