Pair of town houses. c1798 for John Webb, merchant. Granite
ashlar to basement, local freestone ashlar above with asbestos
slate roof with 3 hipped dormers behind parapet and brick end
stacks. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys plus attic over basement;
symmetrical 3-window front. Rusticated quoins, string course
and parapet cornice; pair of round-headed doorways within
central open wooden Doric porch with mutules to cornice;
5-panel doors with plain fanlights and C20 horned 12-pane
sashes under shallow segmental arches with projecting key
blocks; original panelled doors to basements. INTERIOR not
inspected but likely to be of interest. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES:
original granite steps bridge forecourt with original
wrought-iron railings and granite steps down to basement.
