GV II

Canal lock. c1770. By Brindley, Whitworth and Simcock,
engineers. Brick with some stone coping. Double lower and
single upper gates. Stone set into flanking wall outside lower
gate inscribed No.15/1861 probably indicating
repair/reconstruction in that year. The lock is one of a
flight of 21 on the Birmingham Canal, Wolverhampton level.
