Terrace of 4 houses and shops. Early C19, with mid-late C19
and C20 alteration. Pink and cream mottled brick in English
garden-wall bond, with brick dentil eaves course; coped gables
with shaped kneelers, and brick stacks to pantile roof.
3-storey 5-window front. Round-arched passage entry between
Nos 8 & 10. No.8 has mid-C19 shop front with 6-pane window;
Nos 10, 12 & 14 have small-pane bow windows, those to 10 & 12
probably shop windows originally, that to 14 renewed. All
houses have C20 part-glazed doors beneath overlights, to left
of window in Nos 8 & 14, to right of window in Nos 10 & 12.
Nos 10 & 12 have continuous projecting cornice over all
openings. Nos 8 & 10 retain original 16-pane sashes on first
floor, and unequal 12-pane sashes on second floor; No.8 has
4-pane sashes on both floors; No.14 has C20 small-pane
replacement windows. Windows over passage entry are blocked.
All upper floor windows have painted stone sills and painted
wedge lintels. Roof light to No.14. No.8 unoccupied at time of
review (1990).
