Statue. Erected 1758. Limestone ashlar with lead statue.
Panelled plinth with bowed ends, and statue of Hercules
holding club. Part of a notable and well-preserved mid C18
garden layout. The inventory made after the death of Thomas
Goldney (III) in December 1768 refers to "1 Large Leaden
figure of a Hercules": there were 17 figures in the garden at
that time.
