Newspaper office, now a restuarant. Mid C19. Stucco with Ham
Hill stone plinth, quoins, keystones, cills, platband and
coping to the front parapet; hipped slate roof and rendered
stack to centre of forward-facing slope. Single storey;
symmetrical 3-window range. All openings are set in large,
keyed semi-circular arched recesses, late C19 four-panel door
with high overlight flanked by horned 2/2-pane sashes to the
front, and four 6/6-pane sashes to the left return. To the
centre of the parapet is a small raised pediment. INTERIOR:
altered except for the iron roof structure. HISTORY: The
County Mail, an advertisement news sheet, was started in 1878
and was still issued in 1976.
