The Grange
II
Farmhouse. Early C18. Red brick and coursed squared sandstone.
Plain tile roof with brick gable stacks. Double range plan.
Two storeys. Plain brick first and second floor bands. Dentil
eaves cornice. Symmetrical three bay south elevation has
central projecting C20 brick doorcase with C20 half glazed door.
Flanked on each side by 3-light segment headed casements. Two
similar windows above. The north elevation has a central full
height staircase window. to the right are two small C20
windows. To the left is a 3-light segment headed casement. Two
similar 3-light casements above. The east gable end has the
remains of a massive external stack of large sandstone blocks,
terminated by a moulded stringcourse. Set-off at half height.
