Houses. c1822 (date tablet). Brick; Welsh slate roof; 6 brick
axial stacks. 6-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and attic; 6-window range: 6/6 sashes with
painted stone sills and reveals, under segmental arches; 3/3
sashes over; brick modillion eaves continuing as pediment of
central 2-unit protruding gable. 3 left-hand units have doors
to left, right-hand to right; some original 6-panel doors with
cast-iron fanlights under semicircular gauged brick arches,
flanked by 6/6 sashes under segmental arches; all with painted
reveals and stone sills.
INTERIOR: No.37: dogleg staircase with stick balusters and
turned newels. 2nd floor: two 4-panel doors. 1st floor: two
4-panel doors.
Cellar: brick-lined. No.39: C20 wrought-iron staircase, to 1st
floor; probably stick balusters to 2nd floor. 2nd floor: early
C19 hobgrate and fire surround; architraves to windows; two
4-panel doors; early C19 fire surround. 1st floor: early C19
fire surround; alcoves; 4-panel door; skirting; ceiling rose.
Ground floor: wall cupboard; picture-rail; 4-panel door; lined
arch, to hall; architrave to window. Cellar: brick-lined;
arched stack base; brick floor.
No.43: dogleg staircase with stick balusters. 2nd floor: 2
fireplaces with wood surrounds; 2 wall cupboards; two 4-panel
doors. 1st floor: fireplace with wood surround; two 4-panel
doors; 1 hob grate with missing surround. Ground floor: plank
doors; 4-panel doors. Cellar: brick-lined; chamfered ceiling
beam.
No.47: dogleg staircase with stick balusters and turned
newels. 2nd floor: 4, 4-panel doors; fire surrounds. 1st
floor: fireplace; 2 wall cupboards, 1 retaining doors;
architrave to window; wall cupboard; 4-panel doors.
Ground floor: 4-panel doors; wall cupboard; 2 wall cupboards.
Cellar: brick-lined; stone-lined steps; chamfered ceiling
beam. Other units believed to have similar staircases.
