Garden walls. probably early-to-mid C19 and early-to-mid C20.
Squared coursed sandstone rubble. Copings mostly
semi-circular. Corners curved. On the west side are 3 plain
recesses for seats. The western wall forms a retaining wall to
the terrace of Heysham Head House (qv) and 2 niches flank the
steps opposite the house porch. Heysham Head House was
originally known as Heysham Lodge and was bought in 1923 by
Septimus Wray who opened the grounds to the public as Heysham
Head Old English Gardens.
