House at end of row. C16, large C20 extension. Small panel
timber-framing, brick infill and underbuild, tile roof, brick
stack.
PLAN: 2-room parallel plan; a large gabled wing has been added
back right. 2 storeys and attic; an early (probably C17)
gabled dormer with 3-light casement, ovolo mould mullions and
transom, and square leaded panes, left, near eaves. At first
floor a 3-light casement with wood mullions and leading, and a
further 3-light at eaves with cast-iron diamond casements to
wood mullions, above similar window at ground floor. C20 plank
door left; this and the casement under deep fascia board with
drip mould; this formerly had large garage door. Right gable
with 2 tension braces at first floor level has close stud
framing in 2 tiers to gable. Brick stack back left. In the
alley remains of heavy timber corner post.
INTERIOR: altered, partly remodelled and extended late C20;
details include an open first floor divided by a central
collar truss with a late C16 collar truss queen posts and
diagonal braces between collar and purlins, with a higher
queen post truss set against the left-hand square-framed gable
which has corner jowl posts; left-hand mezzanine supported by
a C19 cast-iron column; C17 first-floor and dormer windows
with wrought-iron turn buckles and draw handles.
