House with attached pavilions and wall. Late C18, probably
with mid C18 core. Stuccoed brick with ashlar dressings;
hipped slate roof with buff brick stacks. Double-depth plan. 3
storeys; 2-window range with attached 2-window range breaking
forward to right. Sill bands to all floors and narrow top
cornice. Entrance: tetrastyle porch has Doric columns with
fluted capitals and Ionic entablature with fluted frieze which
has swags and paterae to central forward break under pediment;
half-glazed door flanked by 8-pane sashes. Windows have
12-pane sashes, 9-pane sashes to 2nd floor. Left return has 2
full-height canted bays with French windows to ground floor,
12-pane sashes to 1st floor and 9-pane sashes to 2nd floor.
Right return has 2 wings, one with hipped tile roof, flanking
stair window. Rear has varied fenestration and 2-storey wing
with gabled pitching hole and single-storey range to right.
Pavilions to right (east) of entrance front have pilaster
strips, sill and impost bands to round-headed windows, and
pedimental gables with end stacks, that to left with blind
windows; stone-coped wall between has central entrance with
paired timber gates and flanking round-headed entrances, one
blocked. INTERIOR: dog-leg stair to right of hall has open
string and turned balusters; some rooms have cornices and
shuttered windows.
