Formerly lock-keeper's cottage, now house: late C18 with mid C19
alterations, for Chester Canal Company. Washed English garden wall
bond brick, Welsh slate roof with 2 integral gabled chimneys.
2-storey, 3-bay south front. Broad central bay projects slightly and
recess contains a tripartite sash with glazing bars under a flat hood
on brackets. Above is a semi-circular tripartite window with glazing
bars. Left end bay has door with simple porch and a 16-pane sash
above. C20 casement in other bay. North side has semi-circular
headed door to cellar.
Interior: 3 rooms on each floor including cellar. Large cupboards of
vertical boards and with iron strap hinges, to either side of main
fireplace.
