8/15 Bradbury's Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. C17 remodelling of an earlier, probably C16, house; C19 alterations
and additions. Timber framed, largely replaced with brick (English bond);
plain tile roof; brick integral end stack with lozenge shape, cruciform and star
shape shafts and brick external end stack. Aligned north-east/south-west
facing south east with projecting porch, C19 additions to the north-east on the
same alignment and C17 and C19 additions to the north-west aligned north-west/
south-east. 2 storeys and attic. 1:1:1 bays casements; central gabled porch
with 3-centred entrance arch and windows with brick dripstones; French casements
to left. Single-storey extension to right. To each side of the porch a ground
and first floor single light window with chamfered opening; exposed timber framing
inside the porch and C17 six-panel door. Queen strut roof truss to left hand
gable and exposed framing of 3 square panels to eaves to the left of the stack.
C17 rear wing has a 2-light chamfer mullioned window with rebated frame.
Interior. Chamfered and stopped spine beams and joists, several C17 doors;
exposed wall framing.
