as "Pair of Cottages
N. of Old Hall Farm House")

Pair of cottages. C17 with C20 alterations. Coursed and squared stone
blocks; clay tile roof; brick ridge stack and brick corner stack.
Each cottage is of 2 bays forming a 4-bay range. 2 storeys; irregular
fenestration, all C20 casements and top opening windows. Left Hand
Cottage: Gabled glazed porch with 2-leaf door to right; ground floor
window to left, first floor windows to right and to left of centre,
the latter at a slightly lower level. Right Hand Cottage (Deveron
Cottage): Glazed door to left of centre, 2 windows to centre and 2 to
right at a slightly higher level, 2 first floor windows to left and
one to right of centre. Interior (Deveron Cottage): Exposed ceiling
beams; 2 upper cruck trusses. Despite the unsympathetic recent
fenestration these two cottages are included on account of their roof
structure and because of group value.
